Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

This is another oriental style suitable for all age groups. In Key Stage 1 the focus is on the phonetics, linking Japanese drum words to their corresponding drum sound as well as physical movements. Simple rhythms are learnt and played with attitude, giving the children a wonderful sense of the power and control of Taiko. In Key Stage 2 the children can really develop their rhythmic skills, coordination, choreographed movements and drumming through this powerful ancient art form to perform an organised and exciting Taiko piece. Drums of all shapes and sizes are used, along with vocal chants and shouts, bringing an electric energy to any performance.
